This is the great Place I Live with Seasonal Changes

.The town of Stanthorpe was originally established by tin miners in the 1870's. Diversification into fruit and vegetable growing provided the solid foundation for the growth of the Shire. Increased diversification including value adding of primary products, tourism and commercial development is valued and encouraged by Stanthorpe Shire.

The Stanthorpe Historical Museum contains many artefacts of historical significance brought together to preserve Stanthorpe's colourful past. Stanthorpe Shire Council Library is a well equipped, modern library which provides a research and leisure resource for the residents.

Bald Rock   National Park

From the top visitors are rewarded by expansive views across a beautiful granite outcrop dotted landscape. Around the base of the rock are stands of eucalypts, mainly stringy-bark and New England blackbutt. The park has a small camping area for those wishing to extend their stay and is just 39km from Stanthorpe.

Bald Rock National Park is tucked away in the thickly timbered country between Stanthorpe and Tenterfield along the Queensland-New South Wales border, accessable to conventional vehicles from the Mt Lindsay Highway.

The park has two distinct walking tracks, both leading to the top of the rock. These tracks are clearly marked.

Quart Pot Creek meanders through the town with gentle ease. There is a large waterfowl habitat where waterhen breed profusely.

The many visitors to the town enjoy their lunch or tea break sitting on the banks of the creek, under the ever graceful willows,
